It’s not often we come across somewhere we haven’t seen or heard of before, but that’s exactly what happened last week when we visited The Parlour at Blagdon for birthday lunch…
Our day started with champagne and flowers and continued in a similar fashion with a delicious prosecco-fuelled lunch of spinach and ricotta tortellini followed by a ginormous slab of toffee fudge cake and cream. If there was ever a more picture perfect Prosecco and Pie-esque place to dine, this is it. Tucked away on the Blagdon Estate, just off the A19 we discovered a charming cluster of buildings with crunchy gravel underfoot and pots of early spring bulbs peeking out in the cold February sun.
The Parlour was incredibly busy for a Tuesday afternoon but we suspect this might always be the case as a crowd of yummy mummies, ladies who lunch, mums, grandmothers and daughters and friends gathered together to catch up over a coffee and slice of cake, or late lunch from their varied and very reasonably priced menu.
The Parlour at Blagdon is ideal for all weathers – we didn’t manage to get a spot in front of the lovely log-burning stove but imagine basking in the summer sunshine on the outdoor patio seating area or enjoying afternoon tea in the Garden Room overlooking the patio area would be just as lovely!
We guess there’s only one way to find out, see you in the summer!
